The established principle of freedom of services (FoS) within the European Union has provided an additional boost to our life business because it enables Luxembourg-based firms to sell life insurance policies to clients from all over Europe.

Bâloise Assurances occupies an excellent position in the highly profitable non-life market. It is proving very effective at developing new products – partly as a result of its fruitful working relationship with the local regulatory authorities.

Strategic focus

Bâloise Assurances Luxembourg has placed its strategic focus on expanding its business in investment-type policies and improving its product distribution by intensifying its banking relationships. It has recently managed to achieve growth by successfully acquiring and integrating Winterthur Europe Vie, Fortis Luxembourg IARD, P & V Luxembourg and HDI-Gerling Assurances S.A. Luxembourg.

An efficiency enhancement programme aimed at continuously cutting costs and further optimising business operations is currently under way. A further key strategic focus is the drive to recruit highly qualified, experienced individuals. These efforts have enabled Bâloise Assurances to attract sought-after talent to work at the firm.
